Maria Vijil Davis, Esq. Founding Attorney

More Than Just an Attorney

Maria has more than a decade of  experience advising clients on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, foreclosures, zoning, leasing, and environmental law.  Maria also has extensive experience with residential conveyancing, title matters, and condominium law, and advises with respect to taxation, employment matters and estate planning. She published a chapter on Deeds in the MCLE publication, "Handling Residential Real Estate Transactions in Massachusetts".  

 

Prior to attending law school, Maria served as a manager for a Fortune 500 company providing critical services to clients such as Network Associates, San Disk Corporation, Abbott Laboratories, Home Depot, Microsoft and MacAfee, Inc.  She worked as a human resource specialist for a biotechnology company and has also served as part of the labor arbitration team for police union Local 141.

 

Maria earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2004, a Masters of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Bachelors of Arts degree from California State University.  She has held leadership positions at the Boston Bar Association, the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, and the YWCA of Central Massachusetts.  Maria is an active member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the Massachusetts Bar Association, and is the Co-Chair of the Co-Op Committee of the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni/ae Board.  

 

Maria is also active in the Wellesley community holding appointed positions in the North 40 Acquisition Steering Committee and the Sub-Committee to Recodify the Zoning By-Laws.  

 

Maria previously worked as an attorney at Mirick, O'Connell, DeMallie & Lougee LLP in Worcester and at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston.  During law school, she worked as a law clerk at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and the Employment Division of Greater Boston Legal Services.
